This 4 hour retreat taught by the Rev. Rick and Anita Byrum will center on the relationship of quilting/quilts to God.
"You can sometimes count every piece of fabric that makes a quilt but never all the love and warmth in a single quilt.", Rev. Rick Byrum. The program presented by the Rev. Rick and Anita Byrum, Fallon, Nevada, will include presentations on "Quilting and the Human Spirit"; "Instruments of Compassion and Care"; "Stewing, Reflection and Praying"; and "Quilting and the Spiritual Life" presented in a worship perspective. Participants are encouraged to bring a quilt that holds deep meaning to the individual. Rev. Rick Byrum is an ordained Episcopal priest, hospice chaplain, and missionary. Anita Byrum is an award winning quilter and a retired sergeant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The retreat will be held at the Carmen Community Church, Carmen, Oklahoma and is sponsored by the Carmen Christian Church and the Carmen Community Church.
